Rosenheim, April 27, 2023 - Anton Kathrein will assume corporate responsibility at KATHREIN SE. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the more than 100-year history of the family company. In the course of settlement of all obligations, Anton Kathrein will initially take over the chairmanship of the supervisory board before succeeding Harald Johanning-Meiners in the role of CEO in 2024. This successfully completes the transformation process of KATHREIN SE, which he and CEO Harald Johanning-Meiners helped to initiate.
Anton Kathrein: “Our company is more than an affair of the heart for me. KATHREIN has huge potential and we will work together over the next few months to further realize this potential. I am extremely pleased to be able to shape the future of KATHREIN with our employees by further strengthening the existing business areas and also opening up new markets in the areas of IoT and electromobility. Together we now have the great opportunity to open a new chapter in the history of our company. I am very much looking forward to this task. My heartfelt thanks go to the Management Board and the Supervisory Board, who have set the necessary course for a successful future for KATHREIN in the past few months. I would also particularly like to thank all employees who, through their loyalty and commitment, have laid the foundation for our new start together.”
Harald Johanning-Meiners, Member of the Management Board of KATHREIN SE: “Today is a good day for KATHREIN. On behalf of all employees, I would like to thank Anton Kathrein for his commitment to the company and for the strong signal of change. With his return to corporate responsibility, we have successfully completed the jointly initiated transformation process. Anton Kathrein has excellent knowledge of our industry and will continue to expand KATHREIN's leading market position on the way forward."
Andreas Köglmeier, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of KATHREIN SE: "The return of the Kathrein family to corporate responsibility is a great sign of Anton Kathrein's solidarity with the company and good news for the employees, our suppliers, partners and customers and of course for them Rosenheim region. The Supervisory Board expressly welcomes this step.”
As part of the transaction, all obligations to the banking consortium under the restructuring agreement concluded in 2019 will be discharged. This is made possible by a contribution by the Kathrein family to the company and financing by the Sparkasse Rosenheim-Bad Aibling. The transaction is the result of a carefully executed process led by the board of directors Harald Johanning-Meiners as well as a constructive cooperation with the banking consortium, which contributed significantly to the success of the transaction. The ownership structure of KATHREIN SE remains unaffected by this step.
